The 19 Class Lessons of the First Class of the School for Spiritual Science

Dear Members of the School for Spiritual Science,

After several years, the time has come again when we will be able to experience all nineteen Class Lessons together at the Goetheanum during an intensive week, held in parallel in German, English, and Spanish. The form of the individual lessons and the overall composition of the course of the First Class will once again stand before us in its full magnitude—in the building whose realization Rudolf Steiner worked toward until the very end.

We expect members of the School from all over the world and would like to attempt to center our working groups around this innermost core of the School and carry them into the future—in the sphere of General Anthroposophy and the professional sections. Thus, from 3 to 7 November, the meetings of the Class Holders who are active worldwide will take place in the General Anthroposophical Section; meetings of various other section collegia will also take place, which have assumed co-responsibility for the realization of the professional tasks of the School in an international orientation. It is a major concern of the Goetheanum Leadership to bring the spiritual work with the Class Lessons once again more closely into connection with the challenges in the various spheres of life, with anthroposophical initiatives and institutions—something that belonged to the foundations of Rudolf Steiner’s understanding and aims for the School. The course of the Class Lessons is the common basis of all our work. We would also like to make spaces available where people can meet who work in a shared profession, are preparing for it, or have previously worked in it—and who wish to exchange their experiences of working with the Class Lessons in personal as well as professional life.

At the same time, every participant will of course also have the opportunity to let the Class Lessons resonate quietly within themselves, in the artistic Goetheanum building and its beautiful surroundings.
